5 Occupational Hazards To Avoid As A Healer

During this time of the pandemic, the occupational hazards for folks in health, wellness, and service industries seem to be at their peak. For healers (counselors, therapists, social workers, energy healers etc.), the potential hazards do not start and stop with fear of contracting a virus. They are ongoing when you have dedicated your life to helping others heal. This is why we and our families need to maintain a discipline of meditation and energetic cleansing. Not sure why? Read below for more clarity.

Stop calling yourself an empath, you are much more than that.

Here are five occupational hazards or mistakes healers must deal with to be at the top of their craft.

  1. Absorbing emotional waves from clients and letting them internalize.

This is super common amongst people in general. Part of working with energy, one understands the sensitivities to emotional waves. When these feelings arise, often they can be seen or related to by the healer’s personal experience. Internalizing those emotions too much can be dangerous. It is the most common hazard for self-identified empaths. In essence and the power of words, identifying as an empath limits the ability to detach from the flailing emotions that one might pick up.

  2. Getting stuck without clarity.

One of the skills required to stay energized and highly favorable to the clients and prospective clients needing healing assistance is the ability to dive into the deepest of swamps of their trauma and return un blemished. This skill can be acquired; however, a naturally gifted healer will have some substantial planetary aspects at the time of their birth that further indicate this ability. Even the most gifted healer takes on the task of cleansing thoroughly after every client. Even a clean swamp, is still a swamp.

  3. Repeatedly attracting clients who remind you of what you need to learn.

Number 3 only becomes a hazard only when the healer becomes lazy or too comfortable in their pleasures. They will falter if they are entertaining the mind game that they are better than the people they serve. Taking on full responsibility to heal and grow the self as the journey reveals is a must! To ignore those indicators from soul source is recourse.

  4. Relying solely on the income you receive from seeing clients.

Number four is a mistake that can become a hazard.
Healing is magical. There is never an accurate indicator that it can’t be instantaneous. For a healer to expect anything less is unfavorable to the client. That being a principle of healing, one cannot rely on the money they will make while serving others in this capacity. It is my suggestion to all blossoming healers that they look for multiple sources of income to create the pathway that allows them the freedom to see clients as needed, not as required by a budget. It is crucial not to become attached to making a living through healing. Yes, I know, there are a thousand marketing coaches online convincing you to charge top dollar for your expertise (which should come through experience). However, I will tell you from my experience working in both well-off and not-so-well-off markets, that fulfillment has no income bracket and focuses on who you know you are already serving.

  5. Entertaining feelings of insecurity

This hazard or mistake refers to when we have worked with a client, perhaps we did NOT cleanse (see #2) after the session, and we go on ‘wondering’ did we help enough? Are they ok? Will they continue to see me? This can also look like discussing the session. Yes, it’s actually talking about it with someone who was not there and has nothing to do with it.
Check yourself before you do that.
All these doubts are the enemy of this work. They propose failure without evidence. Remembering that peace is what carries the healing potency, doubt is only a trick to poke holes.landscape, fantasy, sky

These lessons have come in the hardest way for some of us. In colonized society, we are beginning to remember many of the universal truths that had been veiled for active oppression. Those days are over. The veil is dissolving as I type. It is valuable for us to start giving explicit attention to why we are alive during this time. To create a world of love based creation and let go of fear-based conditioning.
