When the Forecast is Smoke ~ Detox Tips for Diffusing Quality Essential Oils

Wow! with so much gloom over the west coast where I and many of you live, it’s easy to forget to fill our glass of hope some days.  Thankfully there are ways to detox the home daily like diffusing with top quality essential oils.

Here are my top tips for diffusing with the purpose of daily detox.

#1 I use YL’s  Purification blend to give me confidence in taking a deep breath. Keeping my windows closed and a few fans on is also a comfort to the sights of ash on the patio. Set the timer controls for 10-20 minutes every hour during the day.

#2 Orange oil has taken a front row on my shelf. Their ability to boost the mood after months of staying home is a great afternoon pick us up. Plus the added bonus that citrus oils digest petro-chems is a bonus to the boost of fresh taste in my water (only ingest food quality essential oils).

#3 Always place your diffuser as high as you can in any particular room. Studies have shown the higher they are placed the further the molecule will be distributed.

#4 Unplug your diffuser when not in use. Most diffuser plugs have adapters because the require a a bit more electricity. Be mindful of this and take the plug out of the socket when not in use to save on electricity.

#5 In the evenings, diffuse a simple pre-blended quality oil like YL’s Peace and Calming. It can help reduce sharp feelings of anxiety and help us look forward to another day.

#6 Drinking lemon oil daily is a awesome daily detox, ok, it’s not diffusing but it is digesting. Unseen particle matter from the fires is everywhere and lemon oil can dissove and neutralize many of the negative effects.

#7 Diffuse Lemongrass and Bergamot oils. 3 drops of each in the water diffuser will create a benefit physically and emotionally for the whole house. Shoot, they don’t need your permission. Lemongrass supports the lymphatic system while bergamot is known as the happy oil with more of a floral scent that reminds me of gardenias.
