I’m always feeling some type of way before writing up these vibe checks. It’s usually fears and anxiety of harsh criticism that keeps me from diving all in. I’ve slowly been making my way, shuffling closer and closer into the depths of what this developing craft can be~
Having to process my own emotional work like everyone, as a card reader, it’s easy for discernment to get blurred when trying to channel messages from my highest knowing. In order to avoid any blind spots and misguided projections, being able to energetically neutralize is essential. Localizing my core and cosmic consciousness[1] through danza Azteca, song, ceremony, divination, and the Mayan naguales has served as harmonizing resources for personal spiritual-emotional balance.
Today feels and has been playing out differently than most vibe check write up days. I think it’s because right before going to sleep at around midnight, I worked with the day energy of Oxlajuj Tz’l (13 dog). With the intention of gaining some clarity and guidance through dream world, I woke up (not remembering my dream) prompted to get started, cards in hand and vibing to MF Doom’s Special Herbs on my califone.
Shuffling, two cards flew out from each deck:
The first card, Tlapapalcoatl, translating into ‘multi-colored snake’, depicts the energy of Tlazolteotl dancing beside the feminine and the masculine (also representing ying and yang energies). The snake coiled around Tlazolteotl epitomizes ancient wisdom and sexuality, prompting us to tap into our inner knowing and joyous desires as we replenish and holistically discard of stagnant residue~ Tlazolteotl, known as the ‘divine nature of filth’ ingests everything foul around and within us. Tlazolteotl is the immaculate ability and process of composting dark residue into life and possibility.
The second card, Four-Legged reminds us to reexamine our relationship to endurance. More specifically, this card highlights our four-legged relatives as healing aids and supporters during our journey of ongoing self-discovery. This also represents sacred companionship, friendship, and being in good company. On 02/22/22, the Mayan Tzolk’in calendar honors Oxlajuj Tz’l, representing the number 13 and the dog nagual. The number 13 signifies the major joints in our body and ability to move. Symbolizing spiritual authority and loyalty, Tz’l is an energy worked with to bring justice and dignity to a situation.
Tlapapalcoatl and the Four-Legged are here to remind us to keep going, rejuvenation work is afoot and we must move (at our own capacity) through its depths, no matter its darkness and detours. The essence of Tlazolteotl is within all of us, ready to assist and transmute anything unwanted and unneeded. With the help of loyal companions and healing energies of metamorphosis, we have it within ourselves to light the way we’re headed.
