Welcome to L.A. Healer

How to create a daily spiritual practice that meets your needs.

A few years back I came to the realization that in order to maintain a life of less stress that using a spiritual practice on a daily basis was in my best, if not, highest interests.

I knew certain activities gave me the release or freedom I craved to feel, like dancing and swimming. Others gave me an emotional release or neutralization of heavy emotions like gardening and hiking. I couldn’t neglect the deeper internal arts I had practiced intergenerational like qigong and yoga. I noticed how the movement was a valuable tool for feeling balanced.

As I deepen my studies in the healing arts, I clarified the leverage of vibrational life energy. One of the adjustments I made was to integrate healing tones, chanting, singing bowls, and sacred songs.

Pronouncing pre-colonial inflections and languages inherently activated a broader path in my spiritual sense of self.

Giving all these practices the valued currency of attention has conditioned me over time to make sure I carve out consistent time to practice them weekly. Although I have a confession to make, none of these are part of my daily ( as in every single day) spiritual practice. Instead, there are things that you and I do every single day that can be done with more mindfulness, more sweet attention than we may have given previously.

Ideally, you too can integrate movement forms to generate life energy. Something we can make part of our weekly routine or part of the daily routine and this comes up according to your schedule, time, and energy.

Creating your own spiritual daily practice takes very little time, energy and scheduling.

Here are some options for you to consider when creating your daily morning or evening spiritual practice. Take into account that twilight, when the sun is just rising or setting, is a neutral space zone that in essence is a blank slate for intentional vibrations or prayers.

1. Take a deep breath and greet the day/evening with a smile.

2. Honor your directions within or without. Acknowledging your inner 4 corners, your positive, negative, future, past and present self. Or, you can practice the honored tradition of reaching out to the cardinal points, higher and lower hearts to draw in your creative energy for the day.

3. Breathe to activate your points of power. These can include chakras, meridians, palms of hand, or feet. It can include lower, middle, and upper Dantean. Allow your breathing to guide you into the magnetic field of your body.

4. Place your feet from the bed to the ground with an affirmation of how you will walk in that day. Example “I am stepping into my highest potential”
Make your bed, keep the area that you sleep in fresh, uncluttered, and organized. This in turn helps you feel circulated and organized in your own energy field.

5. Visit the place of hygiene and speak loving words to yourself while caring for the body. I trust you already have made it a habit to brush your teeth and hair. While doing these mundane activities, use your spiritual discipline to allow positive thoughts and attention in your space.

6. Drink 12 ounces of water. This should be the first and last of every day. I mix cell nutrients into my water at night and add lemon or lime for cleansing in the morning. Some may feel inclined to wrap their hands around the cup and charge the water with delightful words of life force and healing.

7. Practice a form of movement exercise to stretch and awaken the limbs, center into the spine and expand out to circulate energy.

These activities are described as general as possible for you to customize. Meditate on what resonates with you. I purposefully left out rituals or practices that would require many objects or invite in other energies in order to help you generate self-reliance. Your personal daily practice is dedicated to you and only you. Use these suggestions as a framework for your sacred love and growth with the higher self.
